We recently visited the home of the Hamptons antique dealer R.E. Steele, and snapped a few shots to share. Russell Steele developed a passion for antiques and vintage while flipping a house. He found that pieces with history could create interesting spaces and offer a balance of function, form and comfort. RE Steele Antiques has two shops in East Hampton and has participated in the New York Modernism show for several years. A client had said she would like to use yellow to offset the winter grays of the sky. If you are in a city where the sun doesn’t show up a lot for 6 months of the year, this is especially a good idea. There is a huge demand for gray as the main color theme in homes I have designed lately, acting as the perfect backdrop to incorporate yellow, black, white, and something unexpected!
